About the Joint Commission:
The Commission for Sustaining Rabbinic Education is a joint program of the CCAR and the HUC-JIR Alumni Association. Its purpose is to create, promote and implement programs of sustaining education for the Reform Rabbinate. The Joint Commission has reached over 500 HUC-JIR alumni and CCAR members through its Online and On-Site programs. The Joint Commission is chaired by Rabbi Irwin Zeplowitz (C'84). Rabbi Ruth Abusch-Magder, Ph.D., (N'06) is its director. The Joint Commission also works closely with Gregg Alpert, National Director of the HUC-JIR Department of eLearning.
